On 30 November there was major change to all the Community Programmes throughout the UK. Since 1990 the PFA were responsible for all Community Programmes in the Premier League, League and non League.

The support unit of the Community Programmes at the PFA closed meaning that the FITC scheme at Newcastle United that had operated since 1990 terminated.

Newcastle United, with the backing of the Premier League, are forming a new Community programme within the yet to be announced new Foundation.

The Community programme has organised a Schools Coaching Programme and Evening sessions for the January/February term and football courses in the February Holidays.
