Just Grand For Ladies!
SPORT Newcastle have awarded £1,000 to Newcastle United Women's football club this week.
The one thousand pound cheque will go towards ensuring the Women's club can continue to deliver a comprehensive youth development programme and assist in the mentoring of coaches and volunteers.
Rob Atkin NUWFC Head Coach says "We are really pleased to receive the backing of Sport Newcastle once again, this funding will enable us to give young players throughout the City the opportunity to access the most popular female sport and hopefully go on to represent Newcastle United and England.
Newcastle United`s first team squad currently boasts five players who have progressed through the system with the help and support of Sport Newcastle, they are Emma McEnaney, Lisa, Rachel and Sarah Coleman, and most recently, Ruth Sutcliffe was one of the rising stars for 2006.
Sport Newcastle are doing a massive amount of unseen work to enable youngsters to become involved in all aspects of grassroots sport in our region.
