GEORDIE striker Andy Carroll grabbed a hat-trick for the second year in a row on Teesside as Newcastle United reserves ran-out 5-0 winners over Middlesbrough.
The Gateshead-born frontman left the RIverside Stadium with the matchball after a 5-1 win last season and repeated the feat at the home of Northern League side Billingham Synthonia.
And the 19-year-old even had time to miss a second-half penalty with Boro also reduced to ten men as Graeme Owens saw red for a dangerous lunge on Matthew Grieve in the 71st minute.

But it was Carroll (22) who opened the scoring with a powerful header from Mark Doninger's out-swinging corner after James Troisi's 20-yard strike was diverted around the upright by Ross Turnbull.
The hosts could have been level within 60 seconds had it not been for a fantastic double save from Fraser Forster, the 19-year-old stopper first keeping out Egyptian striker Mido's 12-yard drive before denying Jason Kennedy from the rebound.
Carroll could have made it two on 36 minutes but John Johnson was in the right place at the right time to head from the line after he had turned the ball goalwards with his chest from Doninger's flag-kick.
And it was two three minutes before the break, Jonny Godsmark finishing low past the on-rushing Turnbull having been slipped in on goal by Troisi.
Carroll then saw his spot-kick rattle the crossbar on 62 minutes after Kaznega LuaLua had been felled by Rhys Williams - a tackle which resulted in the young winger leaving the field on a stretcher.
But Carroll soon made amends and fired his second seven minutes later, angling a low left-footed effort into the bottom corner from a tight angle after he had done well to control Alex Patterson's high punt forward.
Boro winger Owens then saw red before Carroll netted his third with a low 12-yard shot from Godsmark's right-wing centre.
And the scoring was complete with Godsmark again the provider, this time substitute Dan Neary turning home from close range.
The game also marked an impressive black and white debut for Hungarian Under-21 international Tamas Kadar after his January switch to Tyneside.
