Craig Hope reports from Ralph Gardner Park ...
NEWCASTLE United reserves eased their way into the last four of the Northumberland Senior Cup in front of the watching Kevin Keegan.
Mark Doninger was the Geordies' two-goal hero, the second of his long distance strikes deservedly earning warm applause from all inside the Ralph Gardner Park venue.
But it was Guide Post-born Jonny Godsmark who opened the scoring during a first-half in which the visitors laid siege to the hosts' target.
The Magpies broke at pace down the right with skipper Edgar squaring for Godsmark to apply the finish from 12 yards for his sixth of the season on 35 minutes.
That lead was doubled as Doninger grabbed his first with a low shot from outside the area ten minutes after half-time.
And the scoring was complete when the 18-year-old mifielder smashed an unstoppable rising drive from 30 yards which whistled into the top corner of The Robins' goal just after the hour mark.
The game also marked a second-string debut for United new boy Ben Tozer.
