Magpies To Mark Million Fan Milestone
TO MARK the milestone of more than one million fans again passing through the St. James' Park turnstiles during the 2007/08 season, Newcastle United is planning a special treat for one season ticket holder.
United will select a season ticket holder at random from their database and the lucky fan plus a guest will be able to enjoy the first home game of the 2008/09 season in style with a hospitality package in the Magpie Suite.
The name of the lucky fan will be announced at half-time during Monday's final home match of the season against Chelsea.
The Bank Holiday clash is of huge significance as the Blues head north locked in a tense battle with Manchester United for the Premier League crown.
Both teams are currently locked on 81 points, with the Red Devils - who host West Ham on Saturday - boasting a superior goal difference.
In 20 home games this season, including fixtures against Barnsley (Carling Cup) and Stoke City (FA Cup), an aggregate of 988,419 fans have passed through the SJP turnstiles. And this will again break through the million mark with a confirmed 52,000 sell-out against Chelsea.
Newcastle end their season on May 11 with a trip to Everton. Our 3,000 allocation for Goodison Park is already sold out.
