NEWCASTLE United playmaker Emre has been included in a provisional Turkey squad for the Euro 2008 finals.
The 27-year-old, who has not played a first-team match since early February, was allowed to join up with the national squad last week in a bid to build his fitness ahead of their first group match against Portugal in Geneva on June 7.
Before that the team will meet in Antalya, Turkey for a five-day training camp and will then head to Marienfeld, Germany where they will be based throughout the championships.
Fatih Terim's side have pre-tournament warm-up matches in Germany against Slovakia (May 20), Uruguay (May 25) and Finland (May 29).
After their opening group game against the Portuguese, Emre and co face Switzerland in Basel on June 11 before a showdown with the Czech Republic back in Geneva on June 15.
Emre is one of only two British-based players included in the squad, the other being Middlesbrough forward Tuncay Sanli.
The big news in Turkey is the omission of striking legend Hakan Sukur who is the country's all-time leading scorer with 51 goals.
