NEWCASTLE United defender Steven Taylor has signed a new three-year contract which will keep him at St. James' Park until the summer of 2011.

Taylor, England Under 21 captain, has been with United since the age of 9 and last season passed the 100 game mark for the Magpies.

A delighted Taylor said:

"I am thrilled to have signed this new contract. Newcastle United is my home town club and the only team I've ever wanted to play for.

"I can't wait to get back into pre-season training next week and get stuck into the Premier League campaign next month."
