SIR Bobby Robson was handed some goosd news on the injury front on Tuesday when it was revealed that Shay Given suffered only slight bruising to his knee while on international duty.
Given was hurt during the Republic of Ireland's 1-1 draw with Russia on Saturday, and he withdrew from their squad to face Turkey on Wednesday to return to Tyneside for a scan.
However the scan showed only slight bruising, so the goalkeeper looks set to take his place between the sticks for Saturday's trip to Everton.
That's good news for United, espcially with reserve goalkeeper Steve Harper sidelined for up to three weeks with a torn hamstring.
