Skipper's Reaction To 1-1 Draw UNITED skipper Alan Shearer was satisfied with a point as The Magpies ended a hectic week with a 1-1 draw against Wolves at Molineux.
The Premiership strugglers took the lead midway throiugh the half when Nathan Blake took advantage of a Shay Given howler, but Shearer saved the Irishman's lushes with a well-taken leveller four minutes later.
"It's been a busy couple of days, and while we're happy to take a point now I just hope it doesn't come back to haunt us later in the season because really we should be coming to places like this and winning," said Shearer.
"They came at us strongly in the first 20 minutes, as we expected them to, and they took the lead with a sloppy goal from our point of view.
"I was happy to get the equaliser quickly, it was a great ball from Lua and as soon as I hit it I knew it was going in and I was away withy the right arm up.
"I was disappointed I didn't get another goal when I hit the bar early on in the game, but to be honest I think I hit it too well.

"They had a couple of good chances as well, and the referee has had some big decisions to make at both ends so there will be one or two complaints from both sides I'd imagine.
"We could have been down to 10 men in the first half when Blake went down, then late on we felt we should have had a penalty when Jody Craddock has handled the ball.
"The referee said he didn't see it, but I was standing in the same sort of position as him and I saw it and also heard the slap as the ball hit his arm.
"Sometimes you get those decisions and sometimes you don't, but as I said we're happy with a point at this moment in time and we're looking forward to a free week before we play Liverpool next weekend."
