The directors of Newcastle United PLC (the "Company") wish to announce that, following an application to the UK Listing Authority, the listing of the Company's ordinary shares of 5p each (the "Shares") on the Official List has been cancelled and the Shares have ceased trading on the London Stock Exchange, in each case with effect from 8 a.m. this morning.

This follows the announcement by St James Holdings Limited on 15 June 2007 that its offer for all of the issued and to be issued share capital of the Company had been declared unconditional in all respects.

Terms defined in the Offer Document dated 7 June 2007 have the same meaning in this announcement.
