Abdoulaye Faye is a highly rated Senegal international who for the past two seasons has been instrumental in Bolton Wanderers' success in the Premier League.
Faye, comfortable in a defensive or midfield role, began his career at Senegalese club ASEC Ndiambour before leaving the then top-three team to go to Jeanne D'Arc, also in Senegal. In July 2002 he moved to Europe and signed for Lens, joining fellow international teammate Papa Bouba Diop.
In the summer of 2005 Faye moved to England and has played for the past two seasons with Bolton Wanderers, making 60 top flight appearances scoring 3 goals.
Bolton manager Sam Allardyce used Faye primarily in a position just in front of the back four but he is equally adept in a number of defensive and midfield roles leaving Allardyce eulogising over his quality and commenting "He has been outstanding in every match he has played and from my point of view he has been our best player."
His excellent form in domestic competitions saw him called up to the National Team for the African Cup of Nations in January/February 2006 where he made four appearances in Senegal's run to fourth place in the tournament.
A strong tackler, but creative too with exceptional aerial ability, Faye has proved a constant thorn in the side of many a Premier League side.
