Canada U20 international

Son of former United goalkeeper Eddie (one appearance in FA Cup in 1976), Born and raised in Canada but came to England to further his aim to play in the Premiership.

A centre-half, he made his Reserve team debut at Bradford City on 10 April 2003 and has won international caps for Canade at junior 17 level.

Other than signing for United, his career highlight thus far has been playing for Canada against America in the USA Cup. Represented Canada Under 19s in the 2005 World Youth Championships in Germany.

Was on the bench for United's UEFA Cup match in Frankfurt on 30 November 2006 before making his debut at Bolton on Boxing Day 2006.

Followed that up with a dream home debut v Manchester United on 1 January 2007 where he scored the equaliser in a 2 - 2 draw.

In May 2007, David signed a new two-year contract that will keep him at Gallowgate until the end of the 2008/09 season.

Represented Canada in the FIFA Under 20 World Cup in July 2007, played in his home country.

Called up to the full Canada squad for the match against Iceland on August 22 but didn't feature in the game.
