Jose Enrique (full name José Enrique Sánchez Díaz) joined United in August 2007 from Villarreal for £6.3m signing a five year contract.
The highly rated Spanish U21 left back, nicknamed 'The Bull', broke into the Villarreal side last season (playing 23 games) and is a modern attacking defender who actually played at St. James' Park back in August 2006 when Villarreal played out an entertaining 3-3 pre season draw with United.
He began at Levante and had a season on loan at Celta Vigo before enjoying a successful 2006/07 season with Villarreal.
